Replacing Over 100 Water Services With Minimal Disruption in Ashford
Climbing INSUduct Delivers Smart Water Service Replacement in Ashford, minimising Disruption in Multi-Floor Apartment Blocks.
The Problem
A housing association in Ashford, Kent, needed to replace water services to apartments on the ground, first, and second floors of several high-rise blocks. Carrying out the work internally would have been expensive and highly disruptive to tenants, involving invasive construction within occupied homes. The team needed an alternative that could upgrade the services without major upheaval.

The Solution
Contractors turned to INSUduct in climbing mode. By routing the pre-formed channels up the external face of the buildings and “stepping off” at each level, they were able to bring new water services into each apartment without ever entering tenant homes. This method allowed over 100 water services to be replaced quickly, cleanly and at a fraction of the cost of traditional internal pipework replacement.
The Results
Fast, clean installation across multiple floors
No internal access required—tenants remained undisturbed
Significant cost savings compared to conventional methods
Efficient use of INSUduct’s flexible design in a multi-storey setting
