FAQs

No, we are unable to manufacture a 90 degree angled pipe in anything larger than 25mm mdpe. If you wish to use 32mm, you can use a 90 degree equal elbow to turn the pipe within the INSUduct unit. You can make the elbow joint fit snugly within the box by scraping out a little insulation either side of the joint which will have no effect on the overall insulation within the unit.

The Groundbreaker water meter box is geared up for 25mm diameter pipes, so if your pipes are 32mm in diameter, you would need to install a reducer (32mm to 25mm) on the pipe before it enters the Groundbreaker unit.

No the standard INSUduct unit only comes in one size, accommodating 2 water pipes up to 32mm in diameter.
However there is also a 63mm INSUduct product, 2 meters in length, with associated accessories; cap, 90 degree bend & slip joint. These are sold exclusively at Plastics Express Ltd. Please refer to the product specifications for full dimensions of our standard INSUduct.
It is stackable and can be brought up to any height that you require.

No, The outer shell is made of 50% reprocessed polypropylene. The colour is described as a "neutral" brown which would tone in with most brickwork.
Some of our customers have painted INSUduct products by using a heavy duty, long lasting exterior paint (between 3-5yrs) to get your desired colour/match.

Yes, to meet water regulations, water pipes above this depth need to be insulated. If you can't reach that depth, you might want to look at our SHalloduct product, which can be used to insulate water pipes that are not 750mm below ground level.

Yes, please refer to our INSUduct product page and see information advising how you can 'climb' using INSUduct to your required height.
Please note there is a 40mm skirt on the bottom of each unit, which over laps the one before it, to keep stacked units water tight & give stability when climbing. This needs to be taken into consideration when working out your requirements for the installation.

We no longer manufacture Mk 1 & 2 Groundbreaker boxes which use the keys to lock. Our Mk3 version uses toggle latches to ensure that the door is closed at all times. These can be used retrospectively on the older models to remedy any maintenance issues. These can be purchased through BES or Screwfix, attached to the box using self tapping screws directly into the side or door of the Groundbreaker box.

We sell wholesale to Merchants in larger quantities, with minimum order requirements. For smaller quantities please refer to our stockists and merchants listed under 'where to buy'.
